• TheDelhi Lakshmi Yojanaaims to provide monthly financial assistance to economically weaker women and help them become financially independent. The Delhi Government has allocated₹5,110 crorefor this scheme in the2026–27 budget. The scheme was earlier known as theMahila Samriddhi Yojana, and its name has now been changed toDelhi Lakshmi Yojana. According to the notification issued by the Delhi Government’sDepartment of Women and Child Development on 6 August 2026, the scheme came into effect from1 August 2026and will initially remain in operation for three years. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive₹2,500 per month. The amount will be transferred to beneficiaries through digital means and savings accounts. The scheme focuses on promoting women’sfinancial independence, decision-making ability, and self-reliance.

• Option 1
• ₹1,500 per monthwill be deposited into anRD (Recurring Deposit) or FD (Fixed Deposit)account.
• ₹1,000will be provided through aCBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) wallet, which can be used only to purchase essential items approved by the government.
• Option 2
• The beneficiary can choose to have theentire ₹2,500 deposited directly into an RD or FD account.

• A woman must fulfillallof the following conditions to be eligible:
• Age should be between21 and 60 years.
• The family’s annual income should be₹2.5 lakh or less.
• The woman or her family must have been a resident ofDelhi for at least 10 years.
• Onlyone woman per familycan receive the benefit.
• Priority will be given to theoldest eligible woman in the family.

• Women belonging to the following categories will not be eligible:
• Women whopay Income Tax.
• Women whofile GST returns.
• Government employees or women whose family member works in agovernment department or PSU.
• Women who are already receiving benefits under anothergovernment financial assistance scheme.
• Families owning afour-wheeler vehicle.
• Families whose annual electricity consumption exceeds2,400 units.
• Families havingmore than three children.
• Women with acriminal record.
