    Anchorage settled for USD 2.1 million with the family of Easter Leafa, a 16-year-old fatally shot by police last August. Leafa was holding a knife when confronted by officers responding to a call from her sister. Prosecutors declined to press charges against the officer, deeming the use of force justified.
