    Canada will eliminate tariffs on American goods covered by USMCA starting September 1. This follows a call between Prime Minister Mark Carney and US President Donald Trump. Both countries are intensifying discussions on a broader trade deal. Canada will retain tariffs on steel, aluminum, and autos. The USMCA is scheduled for review in 2026.
