    Record floods devastate eastern Australia

    Eastern Australia faced destructive floods. Houses were caked in silt and roads washed out. Around 50,000 people were separated from help. Four bodies were recovered from floodwaters in New South Wales. Salvage crews started a major cleanup operation. The state emergency service deployed over 2,000 workers for rescue missions. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared a natural disaster.
